Brian...I agree that the Exigent covers, for the price, cannot be beat. I cannot take credit for "discovering" this, as if memory serves me when I was searching for a travel cover, it was either d00d or Don who steered me in that direction. It is also my experience with well coated nylon, it will not break down as readily as some other materials.. However, if damp/wet when you pack it up, it is critical to pull it out and drape it over something to allow it to thoroughly dry...mold and mildew sets up very quickly (as soon as a week or two), and mildew is the enemy of the coatings for waterproofing these materials...backpacking tents are one good example I am familiar with, and I've packed many of them wet, but when I get home I unpack and let them get good air circulation until thoroughly dry, then pack back up.
