Lemon Pledge?
« on: February 03, 2008, 10:34:26 AM »

I have read about the virtues of Lemon Pledge here before, I just watched a bike show where they used it on a windscreen and they claimed the bugs just slide right off.

Can someone advise exactly what it can and shouldn’t be used for… can it be used on paint for example?

Do you recommend it?

It may have been posted before, but I’ve searched it and have come up empty handed.

Thanks in advance!

Used Pledge on my Softail and 02 Ultra.  Worked great!  Even on the paint.  I haven't used it on my SEUC since by the time I got it I had moved on to Rejex and eventually........GLARE, but I don't see any harm in it.  It is a maintenance effort tho'.  In other words, it looks awesome upon application, but after riding, you gotta reapply to get the same look.  Glare looks awesome no matter what.

Back when I lived in Maine and had to trailer my bike to Daytona, we used to cover the bikes with Pledge to keep the road grime off them. If you put any kind of fabric cover on a bike on an open trailer, the fabric will beat the paint to death by the time you get where you're going. So we'd go through a couple of cans of Pledge for each bike. As soon as we got of I-95 on Rt 1A in Ormand Beach, we'd pull into the car wash and blast all the grit and grime off the bikes. When we wiped em down, they'd shine like Howie's head.

Used it all the time on my last bike. It's gotta be the Lemon stuff and watch out because it attracts bees.

I fished the bass tournament circuit for about 15 years.  Had a friend that I traveled with....we had a two boat trailer.  He used Lemon Pledge on his boat all the time.  Made it look great.  I always used a good wax or a good quick detailer with wax in it.  It seemed that road dust would stick to his boat a lot more than it stuck to mine.

After fishing just spray off your fishing rods and reels with it. After you wash the boat, go back and wipe off the rods and reels. It will put a protective coat on them and prevent corrosion. Also keeps them looking like new. :2vrolijk_21:
