The air suspension went on easy. The toughest part was getting the compressor tucked up and in. There may be another place to put it that is easier and if so I missed it! I didn't install the gauge as I wasn't willing to give up anything currently in my fairing. I would consider a remote mount gauge like I had on my 01 SERG. I found a 1" lowering kit that I like that I'm going to try. By try, I mean I don't know if it will fit with the Aldans and the bags. If it works I'll hit my 9 1/4" (ish) goal and obtain maximum drop.

I have that air ride on my vrod...it does the job lowering it. the problem with lowering it that much is then its a rigid!! I guess its better to look good then feel good..... :huepfenjump3:

The Arnott system you have will only allow you to lower the bike down to the swing arm stops even if you added the lowering kit. What you Have is as low as you can go.

It will only ride like a rigid when the air is all the way out of the shocks. Coming off of a bike after 12 years with air ride I won't be without it.  :orange:

That is not even close to true in regards to the shocks I have being the lowest the bike will go. I have the taller shocks as I wanted the overall travel of the longer shocks. The shorter shocks have a lower compressed height which tells me the bike will go to that height (that low). If I'm wrong I'll know here shortly. The math tells me otherwise.  :bananarock:

Whatever you say, it's your money, time and effort. All I know is what I was told by the engineer at Arnott. And he also said that adding lowering blocks would put extra strain on the shocks due to angle changes. In the words of Struther Martin in Cool Hand Luke " some people just have to have it their way".

From your info I am assuming you have done this yourself and are speaking of first hand info :nixweiss:

No reason to be a know it all. Not sure but it seams like the math is right to me but what do I know?

Been riding bagger glides for forty years and been 5'7" for all of them. Used every kind of lowering idea you can think of and now have Anott Aldans and can flat foot for the first time. Just trying to save somebody the frustrations I have had...

On my 01 I had extended bags and I really liked them. The 13 has their version of an extended bag however at 2" on just one end they aren't quite what I want. Add in the loss of space with the speakers and amp and while it doesn't sound like much I lost quite a bit of space going to the 13 from my 01. So after Rich did a whole lot of searching   :bananarock: I have bags ordered.  :2vrolijk_21: The bags are going to get sent of to Al's painter in LA.

Even tho they are supposed to be 11 way adjustable, I have them set at #1 all the time even when 2 up. Otherwise, there is no "sweet spot" and the ride is rough but it is there and I do love them.
