That's interesting as both of my previous air rides weren't bad at all. If the Aldan's are not all that they are suppose to be I'll build a setup like I had on my 01 (9 1/2" compressed with close to 5" of travel!).

Others that are larger than I have said, and it's obvious, more weight that preloads the shocks Will smooth out the ride and allow greater adjustment. Seems like about 200 lb. is a minimum needed whether it's gear and bodies combined or just a rider.

I finally made contact with the wheel guy today. I'm looking to have a 23" Agitator "Like" wheel cut. I should have details within a few days.

I ordered Pickard trees for a 23" wheel as well as their fork extensions and a Burly 1" lowering kit.

The rear 1" lowering kit arrived a few days ago and according to Ritch's test fit it will work as expected (9 1/4" collapsed with 3" of travel).

With a little luck the bags, tour pack and front wheel will all show up before Daytona! :2vrolijk_21:

I installed the lowering kit today. The kit does do what I wanted to achieve which was nice to see as it confirmed my figuring to be correct. Now I'll look into a fixed size lowering kit as opposede to the adjustable kit I have now. Just for grins I tried the 2" lowering hole, with my shocks that was way to low....

With the large body of the Aldans I had to switch bolt styles to gain some clearance.

9 1/2" center to center (9 1/4" is as low as I'd go and feel comfortable).

7 1/4" give or take to the bottom of the fender.

Plenty of clearance to everything around the shock.

Stock height 10 1/4" +/-

So I am able to lower the bike 3" and return back to stock height when aired up.

That was my determination with the Alden's and the reason I took them off. At 165 wet weight the ride was uncomfortable.

The 23" wheel has been ordered.  :2vrolijk_21: I don't expect to see it before Daytona but it sure would be nice.

The bags are painted and have been shipped, I should see them mid week next week.  :orange:

I had the Yaffe Scowl headlight bezel painted to match and that is finished and on its way also.  :carrot:

Still waiting on the trees to arrive from Pickard, may have to call them again......  :nixweiss: ;)

I have to swing by the local painters and check on my King Pack (solid color, no stripes.... yet, Thanks AL  ;) ).

Puzzzled, how is the ride with the Arnott Aldan Air Suspension System? I'm trying to decide between the Legend, Arnot or the Paul Yaffe Platinum Bleed and Feed system? My woman wants a nice smooth ride more so than the stock gas shock, I want to lower.
I can't wait to see your mods.

Lets see if this will post/work.

I'm not sure how to make it play here without sending you to Photobucket.

Goofing around I installed a universal remote on my air ride. It is a generic four channel controller. I used two of the channels to activate the up/down on the air ride. I still have two channels open. I may add the parking lights to one of them, if I get bored.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Having had three different systems on my 01 (Arnott, Legends and homemade) I can't say that I saw a tremendous amount of difference between the three. Each has something to offer and you will have to decide which one best fits your needs. As has been posted in the past, air ride likes weight, a light person may not care for it. IMO all of them aren't that great when they are first installed as the bags are still stiff. The Bleed and Feed by Progressive is the only one on your list I haven't tried. From what I recall I couldn't get the dropped height I was after with Progressive. So far out of all of the sytems I've run I like my homemade air the best simply due to the amount of shock travel I had at 5" and I had less than $300 invested into it. I would have went that way again if it were not for a fellow member selling their air ride and the price was to good to turn down. If I don't care for the shocks I'll shelf them and add my own keeping the compressor and controls, (worth what I paid for the entire kit).

What brand is it? Pilot? That's what I use on my truck. 2 buttons for 2 sets of strobes and 1 momentary switch to control the train horn. ;D
