Heated seat power
« on: March 28, 2024, 06:12:28 PM »

2018 CVO roadglide.Need power from my heated seat. I remember there being an accessory harness but I can't find it online. Does anybody remember if I can steal power from this little plug that has one wire powered with ign on only?

You said no power from your heated seat?
Do you have a heated seat and no power to it?
If is a stock heated seat that use to work but now doesn't,  have you checked the fuse for it?

There is a harness for the heated seat / heated grips it dose both you will need to buy !!! The harness plugs in to the left side panel / shifter side panel and you can add the seat and grips. Harley stopped putting a plug in under the seat some time ago. if I remember its around $35.00 bucks. Sorry I just don't have or know the part #.

I've  got the heated grips installed using the factory plug by the bars. I thought there was an accessory harness available but can't find it online.

I think the diag connector is grey if I remember correctly. The black plug was acc. (not in front of the bike right now...)

I know the pix in the 2015 service manual was labeled backwards is what made me think of that. I'll check it again shortly as I still have those manuals even though I traded the bike.

The limited cvo models have the harness already installed for the heated seat. The accessory harness for the m8’s (not sure if it’s different from earlier models) has multiple plugs, the one for the heated seat is switched on with ignition on once the harness is plugged into the accessory plug next to the abs module under the right side cover. I believe on the earlier bikes it used to be under the left side cover. There is additional wiring on the harness to wire directly to the battery for the other plugs but for the heated seat connector, you just need to plug in the harness. On my 2022 rgl, I simply tied off all the other wires since I only needed the heated seat connection.
