Any ideas here, its a new bike so accessories might be a problem, do a lot of camping, image of my Zed 900 down west to give you an idea of what I take with me, generally more that this



Any help/ideas would be appreciated

Looks like a big T-bag would support the stuff you need to carry... now you just need something to attatch it to.

i have this sort of set up on my 07, u will have to wait awhile until moco makes something to fit ur 09

side view of a rack on my 07,   bogman this 07 rack will not fit ur bike, i am only saying this is the style of rack that could suit ur requirements.

U have a wider fender and a different housing to the tri-bar rear light than on mine. Also sometihng similar but wider would be ideal for you, IMHO.

Thanks for the help guys, nige, your pics are appreciated, im sure brackets could be made up so that this would fit my 09 bike, a buddy locally has just told be he has fitted the same fender rack to his 09 Night Train, ill be meeting him in 2 weeks and checking it out

yes i think the 09nightie has the same rear tyre & fender size as the  07springer.

i think u would appreciate a bit more width on the rack than this one would give you. the extrea width would give more stability to your luggage.

there is also a twisted steel version which looks cool.

sorry nope its not in any way similar,  it unfortunatley takes awhile for moco to bring out acessories to new bikes.
i went the first riding season carrying my luggage on my back in a  rucksack. An 8hour ride was a bit ouch, but the back seat took most of the weight of the rucksack

that is what I tried to say in my note. The HD parts & accessories catelog has a picture but it is not online. I thought it did but they might have changed it.

The sissy bar upright I bought is in the 2009 Harley catalog on page 243(item B) part #52540-09 $129.95 (it requires purchase of the detachable sideplates part #53810-00B, it is pictured w/the luggage rack, but the rack is on page 251(item D) part #54210-09 $129.95. Then of course you also have to buy the backrest pad which there are three styles to pick from but they're all $59.95 each. Hope this helps. This is the same one pictured on Rheiner's springer.

those detachable sissy bars are a GREAT idea, but ugly as sin......
I might have gone with one if it weren't for the ugly looking rear turn signal kit.
