2009 Chrome Swingarm Blueing by exhaust pipes (PICS Added)
« on: August 24, 2009, 08:02:24 PM »

It seems the lower half of my rear swingarm by the pipes is blueing from the heat.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a way to remove the coloration?

I have the stock headers on the bike with Vance and Hines slipons.

Hello Sinker,

Thanks for reporting this issue. Any chance to get a pic of your bike to see your overall exhaust settings?

I'm planning to change the stock exhaust pipes with Vance&Hines Big Radius 2:2 so I'm a bit worried by what you have related.

Any Big Radius 2:2 owners feedback?

Greetings    Lolo

I mentioned your blueing problem to my dealer and he said it would wipe off with brake cleaner. Have you tried that yet?

The discoloration will polish off with simichrome or other fine polish.

I appreciate the tips.  Will see if either works this weekend.
