Well, at least I know it was in Montana or Wyoming.
21 years ago my wife & I rode to the west coast and back. This picture was taken on our return trip somewhere in Montana but most likely in Wyoming, although I'm not certain.
I've been racking my brain to think of the town we stopped in to enjoy one of the best lunches I've ever had at the Ennis Cafe but for the life of me I can't remember - It's an age thing no doubt.
Hopefully someone can assist by letting me know they recognize the store fronts in the town we stopped in. We were heading east after Beartooth Pass and I do remember approaching a mountain range and climbing up a long straight road along the edge of the mountain (heading south at that point) then the road turned east at the top and it was a plateau for some distance until we reached this town with a great Main Street and stopped for lunch. I don't think it was here but I remember stopping in Buffalo, WY for fuel and visited the historic Occidental Hotel which had a small sign in the window stating "Butch Cassidy Stayed Here... Now You Can Too!" but unfortunately we couldn't stay as we had to make up some time, and continued on our journey. That is all I remember other than the fantastic lunch I enjoyed.
We are planning to ride to the coast again soon and would like to enjoy another wonderful meal at the Ennis Cafe, and I would really appreciate your assistance in locating it for me.
Thanks!
