What are the changes from the 09 vs the 12? Same motor and trans. The 12 has better sound system.

The 12 has a blacked out treatment vice chrome on the 09.

19 in front rim on the 12 and a 18 inch on the 09

Tank and console has changed on the 12, with a pop up fuel cap, and then a fuel gage on the other side of the tank.

Hyd or gas adjustable shocks on the 12 in the back, air shocks on the 09 in the back

Handle bars are different on the 12

Seat can be made solo on the 12

The 2012 will also have a helical cut 5th gear so the trans is quieter in 5th.

What is exactly different on the saddle bags?

 The 12's have extended one piece bags with a little extra usable space, where as the 09's has an extension added on to a standard bag with a visible seam and extra space is not usable.

In my opinion---------------The handlebars are superb on the 12's . Much needed and change for the better. wrist angle is so much better than on the plain RG custom , much more like the SG and Ultra bars.

After looking ay one i noticed the ft. fender is also differant, lower and not as bulky.

I'm not sure I agree on that.  I just love the bars on my 09 CVO Road glide, do not much like the bars on the road glide custom or the CVO Road Glide Ultra.

The bars on the 12 CVO RG feel ok for the few minutes I got to sit on one, the felt lots like the bars on my Wife's 09 Heritage.  To me that means they are pretty good, but I am not sure I will like them as well on long trips or tight curves as the ones on my 09 SERG
