Outlaw sentenced to 14 years

A member of the Outlaws motorcycle club was sentenced last week to 14 years in federal prison.
Gus "Mr. Magoo'' Macropoulos, 41, of New Lennox was also ordered on Friday not to affiliate with the Outlaws or any other motorcycle group when he is released from prison.
Macropoulos pleaded guilty in September to distributing cocaine. His plea agreement stated he admitted responsibility for one drug sale to a member of the Grim Reapers motorcycle club.
Little else was contained in the document regarding allegations that Macropoulos and three others supplied the Reapers 120 kilograms - more than 200 pounds - of cocaine worth about $3 million total from 1988 to 1998.
In return for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped four other drug-related charges that were handed down in 1999 by a federal grand jury.
Martin ''Mumbles'' Volpe, 51, of Wilmington and Clinton Parks, 44, of Joliet both pleaded guilty to a similar charge earlier this month and were sentenced to 70 months in prison.
A fourth person, Terry "Blood" Scheer, 45, of Bonfield awaits sentencing.
Their arrests were part of "Operation Iron Horse,'' a four year state and federal investigation of motorcycle gangs in the Midwest. Eighteen Grim Reapers, including the gang's national president, have pleaded guilty to various charges.
