backrest and road pegs extra?
« on: December 16, 2010, 11:03:19 PM »

Ok - first mistake - went to the dealer to get the compression releases replace again (still under extended warranty) and saw her.  Sleek, slim with a fixed fairing. Extra sexy CVO of course.  Grey and black.  You know the black ones are faster. (LOL twolane).  Have been riding pretty much on the dark side recently --- BMW R1200GSA -- oh the dark side is so fast and fun.  Anyway I digress. I look at this sexy girl on the floor and they offer me an obscene trade in offer on my B&O.   Uh Oh!!  I do notice there is no back rest and no road pegs on the the beast.  WTF?  My membership in the CVO site requires me to review all new CVO bikes upon release.  I definitely see that the HD site shows pegs and backrest on bike and lo and behold they are still showing in the ads.  Dealer says they are "optional".  I know it is a nit but are these really options or did the inmates here get the backrest and roadpegs standard?

Thanks in advance,

Nixobilly (Mark)

They came standard with my bike.  They are tucked in the tour pack.

They the highway pegs / mounts come in a box, the backrest was in the tourpack.  Also comes with the GPS and iPod 8gig.

It is not optional parts you can look at the CVO Parts list and its in the book as equipment.

The parts are documented as stock straight from Mother Harley Mark.  Wave their own docs in front of them.  Or, better yet, call HD customer service with the phone on speaker while standing in front of the salesman.

Will definately do June.  I was just having a panic attack about attending on my BMW.  I missed the one in your neck of the woods and regretting it.  Missing SD was NBD.   Thank God my Dad already did it in Nelson (on BMW), so I don't feel too bad.  Hopefully I can do this deal for the CVO Road Glide and be there in style.

Say hi to the MRS for me!

Probably why they gave you a knock out deal on the CUSE.  :nixweiss:  Then they could recoup it by charging you for standard items.  Don't let 'em BS you.  They come with the bike.  Came with my Grey/Black RUSE, along with all the other stuff mentioned before and a detailing kit, jiffy stand puck, and gold key. It comes with more than the CUSE came with.  I traded my 07 B&O CUSE in on the RUSE also.

backrest and road pegs extra?
« Reply #10 on: December 18, 2010, 11:44:23 PM »

I was kinda surprised during the negotiations.  Got deal for msrp + freight and 300us setup.  However they wouldn't budge from 15800 trade in. They admitted my scoot in perfect condition and it was the most wanted color,  B&O (LOL seriously they said that) but "not worth much" due to high millage (45k). Bike also has our usual upgrades including Bluetooth and extended warranty till next aug. WTF?

Oh well, the BMW dealer offered 18k trade as long as I didn't run up the miles much in exchange for a 160hp and 129fp torque in a stock k1600gtl for 23k list.  And the motors are good for 200k out of the box. ( can't bond with the dealers maint staff if it's not in the shop for head gaskets, compression releases or other crap that has happened)

I love the HD bikes but the MC and the dealers suck.  Your milage may and will vary.

I'm sure the quality and rideability is much improved with the new frame, abs, drive by wire, and big fat 180 rear tire, etc.

I hope I can still ride with my great friends here and I promise not to follow too close on my non Harley scoot if you let me.

Btw the obscene trade in was 18k.   Don't know why they dropped the trade value.  They have both the black and grey and red and black on the floor.  They also had another in the back in the crate.

Am I reading this right?
Your getting a K1600GTL?
And they are telling you the GTL is 23K?
150 lbs. less weight, 160 HP and 129 Torque is an awesome machine.
Can't imagine 200K but 75 to a 100K would be wonderful.
Keep us informed.

200K on a BMW engine wouldn't surprise me Chip, as long as the engine isn't abused/raced.  BMWs have always been known for their longevity and durability.  I loved mine, unfortunately, it wasn't build for a 6'4" rider, more like someone 5'10", so I didn't keep it.
