You've asked me for pics of my bikes. I'm putting the pics of my Custom Pro Street up today. My '85 FXWG is still being worked on, so those will follow. My Pro Street is nothing fancy. It was purpose built to be "My hot rod bike". It has an 89" S&S Evo motor (w/ HD barrels and HD hand ported heads), w/Sifton Cam, S&S Super E carb, Dyna S ignition and Accel coil. It's on a chromemoly Pro Street frame with an early style FXR 5 speed tranny (chain/chain). I'm running a 160 16" Metzler rear on a CCI solid disc wheel, and a 100 19" Metzler Laser on a HD cast wheel. Brakes are now PM with Russell rotors and Russell SS braided lines. Chrome front end and handlebar chrome controls (see, I DO add chrome after all).I need to have a seat made for it now. I don't like the seat that came with the frame. I also lowered the fender closer to the tire when we built it. Now the seat's really off. The bike was built using as many parts from a '87 FXLR recovery, so it's not high end at all. But it's pretty fast.
These pics are from before the last work that was done on it (pre PM/ Russell stuff and the chrome controls). I'l post current pics when I get the Wide Glide back and put both of them up.
Hope you like it. Hoist!
Hey d00d! I couldn't attach my pics. I think they were bigger than the kb that's allowed. I actually tried playing with the program and I think I figured out how to resize them. I'm posting this now, and I'll try the pics following this. If you don't see pics here, maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Hoist,
Nice ride. If I can ever figure out which parts to use to assemble my FXR project I'll let you know. I have three complete front ends in the basement to choose from: 2000 Deuce, 2001 FXDX 39mm dual disk w/compression and rebound adjustments, and a 2004 GSXR 1000 which will take a bit more work to install. For the rear I have a polished JMC Swingarm that I will use to mount the 17" Deuce wheel tire combo. Progressive 440s are also in the pile waiting for my attention. I am also thinking of substituting a newer FLH trans to facilitate relocation of the oil tank. Decisions...decisions....

Thanks a lot Rog. I think you'll like my Wide Gide too. Now you see why I don't get all crazy about modifying a brand new 750# touring bike's engine (that I pretty much only use for travelling) right away. I would rather have a 2 year warranty.

Real nice, love the look, simple and fast. Nice job! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

You just keep telling yourself this. ;) Especially after you get your new scooter, and find out you got a factory "hot rod" that has a LOT of potential, and the majority of the people (at least the ones that hang around here) that get them don't leave them stock for two years. ;D Right now the only thing I see you

Thanks Ed. I appreciate it. Sorry I missed your response. That's exactly the look and result I was going for. Except for the seat. That seat came with the frame. I had my choice of solo or 2-up seat. It doesn't fit the frame anymore, because I bought a metal fender and lowered it down as close to the tire as I could, and still have full suspension travel. So, if anyone knows a reasonable seatmaker, please let me know. Host!

I had promised pics of my 4-speed, so here are a few. It's an '85 FXWG, 80" Evo (with shovelhead flywheels in early '85) with hand ported and polished heads, Wiseco 10:1's, Sifton cam, Jims lifters, Lockhart oil cooler, Dyna S ignition and SE coil. Trans. gearset from '84 Softail w/less than 1K mi on it (guy wanted a 5 speed like his buddies in '85). Original rear belt drive was replaced with chain drive. Rivera pro-stock clutch, All Balls 1.4 kw starter. Stock HD calipers w/Lyndall pads, HD front floating and Russell fixed rotors, SS brake lines. Rear 16" wheel from '87 FXLR w/ Conti and front wheel is HD Thunderstar cast 21" w/ Avon Roadrunner and some other cool chit. Ive had this for 15 years and had it completeley rewired, new tanks and repainted last year. The Warranty is expired! ;)

Hoistiferous,
I got one of them in my back yard all wrapped up minus the trans. I'm stuffin a 2006 5-speed into a 5 into 4 gearbox and puttin it back together (hopefully soon) for a cousin of one of my old club bros who lives up in LaLa Land and works a string of tata clubs when he's not playin bass as a studio muscian. Cool Dude, knows music and women like Yo Yo Ma knows cellos, but don't know squat about bikes. Got stuffed by a "shop to the stars" place in North Hollyweird. Anyway, too bad he screwed around with the bike. In stock form, they're rare.

Thanks HB103. I have a friend that does nothing but flame jobs. We cal him Freddie the Flame! ::) I've got your neck of the woods in my sights. I'm dying to get out there. Every time I get out west, I never seem to get north of the Columbia. Soon though! Maybe on my Alaskan trip in a few years. Have a great Holiday! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Hoist! 8-)
Thanks for the holiday greeting Hoist. If (when) you get up this way, let us know and we'll give you the grand tour.

Hoist, I really like your WG. Everything you've done looks "right" as they say, and even though I feel like I've seen so many flame jobs that they don't even hit me any more, yours has a subtle, yet evident quality to it. Not overblown and gaudy--just classic.
I have to admit, though, I'm really spoiled by the "start" button on my handlebars. I still wake up screaming about trying to kick start my old Triumph after it had sat in the rain and gotten water in the carbs. But by golly, my hat's off to those who still ratchet that lever to the appropriate spot, plant their foot, spring up off the other leg, lock their right knee and come down. A couple of those cycles was once part of the Harley sound to me.
All this "stock" talk, though. You need to meet Otis and Silver-Black. Then all of you can go drive Hubbard crazy....again. That Hubbard--he's a big fan of "stock" bikes. ;D

I like the flames and I like the what you did to the cylinders. Makes it look more like a shovel. The first time you see an all aluminum engine it's a bit of a let down from all the vintage motors in black and chrome.

If not POPEYE would be jelious of your forearms :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:
