FNG from Idaho
« on: August 25, 2008, 03:21:13 PM »

Howdy folks,
First off, great site! Lots of great info and seems like a pretty friendly bunch of folks. I was gonna say fellas, but I noticed a lot of gals posting also.

I inherited my ride. You might have guessed by my sig that it's an 03 serk. My pops built this bike and you could say that it's the culmination of all of his 40 years of having Harleys. I call it a pro street twin. It dynos at 115+ and 117+ hp and torque respectively. An absolute kick in the shorts to ride.

I've been scootin on the street for 29 years and have had a bunch of different rides, my soft spot is for the old boxer beemers but this thing that Pops built is an absolute hoot!

Anyways, thanks for the great resource. I'll check in often!

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas.

I might be able to find a pic or 2 around here somewhere. You guys will laugh though, you see, my pops was a bit eccentric when it came to his scoots. He abhorred that cent. gld and did a few things to tone it down a bit. Namely he blacked out the rear of the bike in order to tie in the black 2-1 thunderheader. It looks good other than the saddlebag lids. I'm thinkin' I'll fix that this winter.

Continual money pits these motorcickles but what the heck!

So did I, same bike got it when my dad lost his battle with cancer earlier this year.

Welcome, and I hope you ride it with the same joy I do!

Welcome to the board.  I've always had a soft spot for Idaho.  Undiscovered jewel of a western state.  Took a trip there once just to check it out from south to north.  Beautiful place to ride.

Been on that highway beside the Salmon (I think) river from Stanley up to Salmon?  And then back south from Stanley to Hailey?  Beautiful.
