2015 one at 9K one at 14K. I was told they changed the design and got rid of the thermostat and other changes. I rode it over 300 miles with out the pump working and didn't hurt anything.

Mine went out on my 16 last summer.  Very pricey repair. 😩.  I believe they put in a new model from the Milwaukee 8 with a new bracket. No fun on that one. Stuart. I had about 42K on the original.

Those old pumps really varied on how long they would last.  I went through 4 pumps, now before you say what the hell.  I had over 100,000 miles in the first 4 years of the bike.  Even drove nearly 300 miles in a day through the hot summer day out west to reach a dealer for a new pump.  Had called the dealer and they even told me ride it like normal, remember it was originally an air cooled motor and will survive.  The water pump is just supplemental cooling of the heads.

Now once you do get the new upgraded pump system, based on the M8 motor, it works fine.  Most recent pump has been in for 2 years and 50,000 miles.  I now have 180,000 miles on the bike and it is running strong.

I had my water pump fail with only 40k miles. I would recommend changing it for the new upgrade before you get stuck somewhere. I hate to say it but it's only a matter of time when it's going to fail. Then you have to call a tow truck 😩😩. Stuart.

15k on my '14.  Had to ride 800 miles in up to 110°F with it gone, motor was fine.

2014 CVO Limited here.  Mine had 41,000 miles on it and was still working.   I just replaced it over the Christmas break with the newer pump and plumbing.   Didn't want to push my luck any further.

On a trip out west, a friends water pump failed at 36K miles.  We were 85 miles from nearest Dealer.  He called them for a tow, they said ride it in, it will be fine,  it was a 95 degree day.

I lost my pump on my 2014 Limited, I believe it was 45K. I was in the Yukon in the middle of no where. I was hundreds of miles from the closest dealer. I actually ended up riding it to Bellingham Washington in 95 degree plus heat. I had just built the 113 before I left for Alaska. I had a little bit of pinging but that was it.

After it was replaced I drained the HD antifreeze and replaced it with Kool Ice brand. It ran cooler and they say it will not gum up the pump.

I switched to this stuff when I fitted the new pump, Dawg.  (Already used it in one of my cars that can sit for years without going anywhere, and used to get filled with rusty muck with conventional antifreeze.)

Far better than normal coolants.
