Title: Fox vs Revo
Post by: mjb765 on April 03, 2023, 09:06:05 AM
I have a chance to buy a slightly used (a few short rides) set of Fox Street Performance shocks or a set of new Revo's (not a's) for about the same price. Only difference seems to be rebound adjustment which I rarely would use.

Which ones to choose?? Opinions???

Warranty on a new set would be my way to go.

I personally don't really care for the look of the shocks with the canisters.   Just my. 02.  Stuart

Same here or use ones where you can hide the reservoir behind the bags.

The Reservoir is probably Not needed on a street bike, and I never cared for them hanging off
the back of the bike. I think the Fox Shocks I bought Look great and are not "in your face".
Perfect for my color combo. (IMO)

Hard to compare unless apples to apples...rebound adjust on both or not on either. IMO Legends offer a little more compliant ride but can't or aren't serviced locally and have a fork system that's "considered" a match, Fox may not be as compliant but they take a bit more of the harshness out of a rougher road (or maybe like being pushed harder) and their fork system, not much out there about them...still searching, only plan on doing once. My road is a State Route, but a 3 digit route, so it doesn't see the maintenance as often, so the frost heaves from the winter hang around for a few years getting worse every year until...and for me Fox can be serviced within 100 miles from where I live.

No service/maintainence necessary for the Revo's Mike. They have a lifetime warranty so after about 30k miles I did have a blow out on one of mine. One of them lost a seal. I contacted them and for $30 (for shipping) both went back to Sturgis where they are located and to my surprise, when returned both shocks had been completely rebuilt  including new springs, and they were super quick about it.
All that and the ride with them was night and day compared to the stock shocks on my 18 CVO RG. Also at 6'2" and a little over 200 lbs. the adjustment on the A's stayed at 3, so the adjustment/A's was unnecessary in my case.
I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I’ve owned both and now have RWD RS1 shocks and prefer them buy a good margin. They are not much more at $999 and have the most travel in a 13inch shock at 4 inches, adjustable compression dampening plus remote reservoirs that are attached so hidden behind the bags.

Hey Mike, I forgot to mention that I went with 13" on the Revo's as opposed to the 12" factory length.

Did you make a decision yet?

It looks like I will probably just stick with another set of 13" Revo's. Had another expense pop up so this is waiting a few more weeks.
