Did not know exactly where to post this. I have a friend, Tim, 43, anesthesiologist who I have known for 10 years. We've been riding together and put up over 20,000 miles together in that time period. We have moved up on bikes until we both got 2006 SEUC last May. We were just making final arrangement on our "Glacier Park" ride coming up in August two days ago. this morning got a call from one of my other biking buddies, who told me Tim and his wife were found shot to death in their home (foul play suspected, details pending). I guess all the how and why questions will come to light, but the shock of losing someone in a violent way has left me in an intraspective mood. It is hard to find good friends, even harder to find true friends, but when you find one who loves his motorcycle as much as you do, it is even harder. My ride this summer with our other band of brothers will not be one rider short, and I guess I will always envision him right there behind me on every trip I take, but unfortunately they will still never be quite the same. John

Sorry to hear about those deaths otophile,
I don't know which is worse, sudden unexpected death or long term illness with no hope of recovery.
I hope you get answers to your questions.

John...so terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your soul brother. You are correct in saying that they are hard to find in life, but take some solace in the fact that you shared many good times together and he will live on in your memories. I'm sure that when you are on Riding to The Sun road, he will be with you...
-
Bless you John on the passing of your friend Tim. We are all just a heart beat away from eternity. How sick our society has become when there is no value on life like it is today. My prayers to you bro and to any family members of Tim. Ride Safe and God Bless!

As some may remember my friend and his wife were killed last year. So in his memory i purchased a rivet at harley museum (I know some have scoffed at $250 for this, but at least he will be somewhere around others doing what he loved to do!). In that same vain, I have changed my CVO name to : HWYMAN1, john

I'm sure he's smiling up there John.

That is truly a wonderful tribute, and if I ever make it to the HD museum, I will pay tribute in person to your friends when I see that rivet. You have done a very good thing. This will last for a long time.

John,
My deepest sympathy to you and all family members. I truely hope justice will be served in this case. Dean.

I'm sorry to hear about this - Even knowing that he and his wife are in a better place doesn't make it any easier on the ones left behind.
Take care, and hang in there.
