Title: 12v source for GPS
Post by: MikeV on December 31, 2009, 04:29:34 PM
Hi All,

I don't always use a GPS but when I do it's usually for a long haul. The 4 hour battery live on most of the PS units is not long enough and I want to tap into a 12v source near the handlebars that can easily be tucked away out of sight when not in use. Has anyone ventured in yet and have suggestions where I can easily grab 12v without showing the wires or removing the gas tank to get access to the harness? I was looking at possibly snaking a wire back to the battery through one of the existing sets that are dressed and secured but it was only a preliminary look and it did not look like I could do it easily. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike V.

I wired my Zumo to a pigtail off the accessory connector under the seat - and power it on and off thru use of the accessory switch...
