This news is not shocking now, but no doubt there will be many shocked riders when there are a lot of E-Rod Harleys on the road.

That would be a shock.  Just don't see it, electric bikes and Harley's have been out quite a few years.  I have yet to see one on the Road.  Last Sumer a HD dealer on Long Island had two on his floor, both 2021's.  Area has more than enough money to afford them.

At current battery tech performance levels, a commuter bike, say less than 100 miles per day is an option.  For long distance or remote areas, where charging stations are not convenient or even available, we are years away from an electric bike becoming a practical option.  The market will develop if the interest is there & the price points make sense.  Presently they do not.

As far as being "green" or "better for the environment", it's something that sounds good until you peel a couple of layers off the manufacturing and/or recycling onions on the vehicle batteries & consider the true environmental impacts. Then it's just typical feel good claptrap, which is what a lot of marketing is. This type marketing is not limited to "green" technology but for some reason it works better there than other places.

Looking forward to being amused by the MSRP posted on the box for the Screamin' Eagle Extension Cord.

Yeah, but the hologram lookin thingy UL sticker on there will make it look extra cool while watching & waiting 12 hours for your e-CVO to charge so you can go on that 125mi maximum range ride.

So many truths in that statement.
