Have been listening to his songs for as long as I can remember....but, sadly, never did get to see him live.

Just this past weekend looked online to see if he was playing any dates again this year.  Saw that all existing dates for this summer were cancelled for health reasons.  I've seen him play live before but not since before Covid.

I, too, have been looking at his schedule for the last few months trying to get to a concert somewhere while on this winter's vacation...knowing that he probably only had this last tour left.

There's a fairly recent documentary about him.......gonna watch it again.

I got to see him in ft pierce FL several years ago. I've loved his music since the early 70s. Great song writer too. Thanks for mentioning him here Dayne. ☹️

Was sorry to hear of his passing. I used to go to all his concerts at Massey Hall back in the '70s. He was a true Canadian Icon. I've also met him on a couple of occasions in the Toronto path, super friendly and down to earth.

RIP.  A great songwriter, really knew how to tell a story in song.

We certainly lost a true music icon in Gordon Lightfoot.

For years I kept saying that I would love to see him perform at his favourite spot - Massey Hall in Toronto which he first performed at 13 years old, but never got around to catching one of his annual week-long concert stretches there.  No excuse, and now I pay the price.  Damn it!

Although I never saw one of his concerts, about 6 years ago I was lucky enough to meet him (at Aurora Canadian Legion of all places) while enjoying a Good Brothers concert that a friend of mine was playing in the band with them.  Gordon was sitting at the next table to mine so at the intermission I took the opportunity to chat with him for a few minutes and he was such a nice, humble chap you would think we were buddies for years.  After the intermission Gordon got up on stage with The Good Brothers and played a few tunes with them.  Needless to say we were all very excited especially my friend who could then claim to have played with one of (if not) the greatest singer-songwriters of all time!

Gordon Lightfoot will be missed by many.
