Which SE bikes for 2006?
« on: January 23, 2005, 09:25:16 AM »

If you look at the history looks like might get another Screamin Eagle Road Glide next year.  Anyone else care to speculate.  For me guess I am hoping this will be the case.

As for the other bike looks like it would be an FX.  Whadda ya think?

We are hoping for another SE Deuce and the other 1/2 will get rid of her Sporty and join the family. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yea you are probably right on the non touring bikes since this was the first year for those.  So I guess my question is which Touring bike will it be.  Sure would like to see another SE RG.  Am I the only one here thinking that way???

The Fat Boy looks like a lock along with the V-Rod......Sportster? with a changeover to a twincam motor?

They always do a Touring bike ('99 being the only exception to that). I think the SE Touring bikes are their hottest sellers.  Look at the numbers produced for the SE Touring bikes over the years compared to the other SE bikes.  For example for '05 published production numbers on SE bikes is 2499 V-rods, 3400 Fat Boys and 3500 Electra Glides.  From my personal experience just from visiting dealer show rooms (granted only in Texas so other areas may differ) I see a SE V-rod or SE Fat Boy sit on the show room for a little while but I haven't seen SE Touring bikes sit.  In fact the only SE Touring bikes I have personally seen on a show room are used ones.  Seems like all the new ones are presold which does not seem to be the case on the other SE flavors.  So I think it is a lock that there will be a Touring bike, question is which one.  I know this is all speculation but fun anyway.

Road_Glide, you've got some good points, all of which I agree with.  Within the touring platform though, the Electra Glide is the most popular and I don't think there's ever been a CVO that's generated the interest that the SEEG has.  Will they do another SEEG, or will they perhaps do two touring bikes, a SEEG and another model, who knows?  If only one touring bike, then my money is on the Road Glide again, just 'cause it's time to cycle back to it.  I guess it will be July's dealer meeting before we know for sure. Agreed by far the EG has more followers than the RG.

Hope they do cycle back.

With all of the EPA and CARB regulations I would be very suprised if they came out with a 120in motor. It would also suck for all of us with the 103's [smiley=cry2.gif]. I'm really not sure what will be next other than the Fatboy and the Vrod. Those are logical since they have run all others for two years. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I posted about a month ago that I heard from my dealer there would be a mid-year CVO model introduced to boost winter sales and dealer traffic.  The dealer meeting was this weekend in Texas, so possibly we'll see something on the website tomorrow.  Whatever it is (if it wasn't just a rumor) will no doubt be carried over as well.  My guess if it plays out is that it will be a Sportster.

Here is some info on the announcement from today's Dealer Meeting.  Follow this http://65.38.172.84/forums/showthread.php?t=50152 .  Hope posting a link here from another forum is not against any rules.  Not intended in anyway to retract from this site or steer folks to another site.  Just information is all.  Later,
