Found out today Harley has three new bikes for 2005.

1) 2005 Sporster XL883R
2) 2005 15th Anniversary FatBoy 1550 ci Fi  with chromed solid wheels
3) 2006 Vrod Street Rod VRSCR

Well, I think Harley's finally run out of innovative ideas with their three new offerings.  [smiley=dunce2.gif]

WHY have a custom 15th Anniv. Fatboy in addition to a Screamin' Eagle Fatboy?
Why not combine the two into one!!  Same thing with this V-Rod offering!??   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I hate to say it, but after 30+ years of owning Ltd. Edition Anniversary Harleys including the two 100th Anniv. CVO's sitting in my garage right, I've truly about had it with this $$$-billion mega-company....

Now, I'm seriously looking at Big Dog's 2005 Chopper now as a 3rd bike in our stable.
I know, I know....sacrilege!! [smiley=confused5.gif]

RoadKing, agreed the announcement today was not too innovative or exciting.  But remember this is not their next round of CVO bikes and I bet the next CVO Touring bike will be pretty special.  Later,

With all of the EPA and CARB regulations I would be very suprised if they came out with a 120in motor. It would also suck for all of us with the 103's [smiley=cry2.gif]. I'm really not sure what will be next other than the Fatboy and the Vrod. Those are logical since they have run all others for two years. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Not a difficult undertaking, Idon't think.  As proof, Big Dog Motorcycles is offering a 117 inch S&S motor with a six speed as standard equipment.  Although with the introduction of "off somebody elses shelf parts", maybe that is the approach that the MoCo is taking towards the whole line up and are getting closer to the ala carte bike. Now about all the CVO's in a model year having the same paint scheme.............

BLM777  -  thanks for remembering my prior thread buddy!

I have actually penciled up specs and started "negotiations" for a 2005 Big Dog Chopper, which now has 117" of right side drive and 11 years of production experience behind it.  BUT...I do like the AIH Texas Chopper a lot! Up here though, AIH dealers aren't the friendliest and don't seem as interested in "working a deal" as BDM dealers.
However, I would love to ride both models to compare before plunking down $35K on a "2nd bike" (will always keep my SERK2, hopefully).  Maybe they'll have demo rides at Daytona Bike Week next month?....right! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

BLM777, I'd like to talk to you more about this subject, but I'm afraid we might rile-up the other members of ol' faithful!   [smiley=nervous.gif]  Sorry guys...I just got tired of waiting for our beloved MoCo to come out with their own CVO Chopper!

Ride safe, and enjoy life to the max while you can! [smiley=beerchug.gif]
