Anyone have the new 2010 Progressive Monotube Cart System?
« on: October 31, 2009, 11:22:15 PM »

Just saw on their website new for 2010 a front monotube front cart system

http://www.progressivesuspension.com/monotube/index.html

I wonder how this compares to the AK-20 Traxxion Dynamics or even the emulators

I've seen this in lots of magazines lately.  They are really promoting the new monotube kits.

I too was wondering about the quality of ride these would provide.

Anyone have knowledge of these yet?

The relatively simple install makes it a tempting option to consider.  You going to guinea pig these Dan?

They dont look adjustable like the trax-D.  But the are ALOT less expensive.

They dont look adjustable like the trax-D.  But the are ALOT less expensive.

Since the actual damper is self contained and sealed, I doubt there is any provision for adjustment other than spring preload (using spacers).  You can't even change fork oil weight, since the working fluid is sealed in the damper.  For most folks, assuming Progressive got the valving right, that isn't a problem.  Not many folks with whiz-bang ten way adjustable anything actually use the adjustments, especially if they require you to take the fork apart to make the adjustment.

If the objective is to improve on the limp stock damping and sagging springs, this looks like a very cost effective fix.  If the objective is race bike handling, or bragging rights over how much you spent on your ride, look elsewhere.

I'm thinking this winter or spring for something to beef up the front and rear of the new SERG.

Sounds like a fairly simple install.

But first, I need to get back on the board track and finish it up.  No Craig, I have not restarted my work on the beast.  I thought I'd say that before you ask...  ;D

I'm consider them but am also interested if they can be combined with their 2" lowering kit?
I'll talk to my Drag rep and find out if so they would be added as the 21" front wheeels are installed

They cannot be combined with the lowering system, nor do they have them for lowered bikes at this time.

Progressive's new gas filled front suspension
« Reply #11 on: November 30, 2009, 07:32:27 PM »

Has anyone read up on Progressive Suspension's new front cartridge set up.

Was told it does not require oil. It is gas charged and adjustable.

Under $400

Anyone got any info :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

I think this is what you're asking about Brian.  Don't know any more than what's on their website though.

They do not have them for our SEEG's since we have shorter fork legs.
