An update on the drunk that killed four Iowa riders returning from Sturgis last year:

According the the Iowa Attorney General's office, 22-year-old Andrew Schlichtemeier will plead guilty to four counts of motor vehicle homicide.

In exchange, the state will recommend two consecutive and two concurrent sentences; however, the sentence will ultimately up to the judge.

The plea will take place February 10th.

In August 2010, police say Schlichtemeier swerved into oncoming traffic on I-29, near Little Sioux, Iowa, and killed four motorcycle riders.

At the time, Schlichtemeier's blood alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit.

Four times the legal limit This guy does not belong in or on anything motorized. He shouldn't even be allowed to operate a can opener...I have made the mistake of driving "over the limit", just over the limit and will never do it again...but four times over the limit is effing ridiculous. Life in front of a firing squad is too good.

In Florida the laws are so ridiculous that he might walk with a slap on his hand and a revoked license. Sad but true.

I'd be willing to bet, the guy will get 20 years, and be out in 10. In Chicago, if the guy was painting his nails too, he would have walked...

Andrew Schlichtemeier pleaded guilty to four counts of motor vehicle homicide. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 25 years behind bars.

As part of the plea deal, he will serve two of those sentences concurrently, two consecutively. Even if he receives the maximum sentence of 50 years, it is possible that under current rules in Iowa he could be released years before that.

Schlichtemeier was 21 years old last August when his pickup crossed the median on I-29, near Little Sioux, and hit the motorcyclists head on. At the time, his blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit.

The men killed in the crash were Jay Bock, Steven Benscoter, Dale Aspedon and Dennis Chaney. They were heading home from the motorcycle rally in Sturgis.

Schlichtemeier will be sentenced on March 24th.

He was sentenced yesterday.  He got 25 years for each death, but with a plea bargain is able to serve two terms consecutively so it's a maximum of 50 years.  Here's hoping they are long and unhappy ones as some big guy's bee-atch.

Sooo the taxpayers (us) get to feed and support the BASTURD for 50 years. I guess I,m just glad he's off the road. I'm also glad he didn't walk on some bullchit technicality.

He will never serve anything near 50 years. I'd be surprised if he actually does more than 20.
