Just in case some of you guys have not heard, Harley are now manufacturing a fender base plate (for a sissy bar and luggage rack) to fit the SE2 fitted with the big back end.I hope this is of interest, it is to me.The part No is   51098 - 06.

Yeap, put mine on last week, loods good.  Keep my wife on the bike with the small back rest.  Installed myself in 15 minutes.

Got mine coming too....I'm putting the low bar on it, with the smooth backrest that goes with the Sundowner seat/pillion.  Wish they made a passenger pillion (thats more than a 1/2 inch thick and two inches wide, like the stock) to match the "snakeskin" look on the rider's seat.  Also putting the small chrome rack, which I think will mount to the plate, along with the low sissy bar/backrest.  Got to have some way to carry something...I'll be riding this to work a great deal, so have to have some kind of bag on the back to throw stuff in.

TC,
I have the small backrest and rack on mine and my girlfriend said she feels pretty secure, she just can't lean back. Not much room to tie things down on. I've tried a few different ideas but can't seem to find anything yet that fits "right". I think it looks great though, follows the lines of the bike nice.

Yeah Ed...that is definitley the best looking version of what can be done...I had to really study on that, because it flows so well with the bike.  In the end, I have opted for the other version though...out of practical need, not asthetics...you got one good lookin' ride there.

I LMAO every time I look at your Avatar.... ;D ;D ;D

Thanks TC, I understand, it isn't all that practical but it looks good. 8-) Most of the time I ride solo anyway.  Glad you get a laugh at the avatar, once I found that picture I had to use it. I have an 8x10 of it in my office, always good for a comment.

If you're interested I also put heel rests on my V, I can post a couple of pics if you like to see them. I put them on last week so they're not in the pics I just posted. They seem to take the stress off your legs and keeps my foot from being under the brake pedal. Running boards are too big for the V so these seem to be a great solution.

Now that's something I would be interested in seeing...HD parts?  Never thought of that.  I'll be riding solo most of the time, but Suzanne will want to be on there too for short trips to Dreams, so she'll need something to actually be able to lean back on a little bit.  Post me a pic of the footrests....might have to have 'em!!  Damn, spending more money already!!

Ed...are you running the SE Pro Mufflers on yours?  If so, how do you like them?  I'm getting them on mine to give it a little more "throat", along with the AF and MAP

I want to see the heel rests too since I just commented on that to Twolane on the "what do you look like" thread!

Terry,
Here's mine with the low bar and smallest of the backpads.  I didn't like the wide one.  It was wider than the seat and fender and didn't look good.  I like the one Ed has but needed more for a T-bag since I am not lucky enough to have a SE bagger too!!!!  (might want the duc though)!  I also chose black over chrome because I wanted it to flow with the graphics and not stand-out.

That looks good on yours V!  Blends with the black graphics well.  Where yours is black, mine will be the Charcoal Flake, so I went for the Chrome....I'm doing a Sundowner seat and pillion too, so got the smooth backrest to match.  I wish they had the pillion in the Snakeskin pattern like the 06 seat, but they don't offer it...the guy who sold it to me knows a leather guy though, so it may happen before it's over.  I really like the snakeskin look on the seat!!

The heel rests are definitely something worth looking into!!

The Duc's for sale...special price for site members!!  One of your sons would LOVE it!!

TC,
I haven't done much to my bike yet. Everything is stock except for some chrome here and there. There are so many options I haven't had the time to do enough research on how I'll modify it. Spring and Summer are really busy time at work, I still haven't put 500 miles on it yet.  :'( I have read some about a new race tuner that has a closed loop sytem but had enought time to read through all of the info yet.
