First warranty claim......
« on: August 18, 2013, 10:26:08 PM »

So I was out and about in I noticed the chrome was peeling on the throttle grip.  I went to the dealer and they ordered a new one, so I actually used my warranty.  Hopefully for nothing else....

I used mine a few months ago when I got a nail in my tire. Was nice to get that at no charge.

I do have some clear coat bubbling on the back fender. I will get that fixed when I finally get her some new pipes. Haven't had any down time yet!

No, mine is on the aft edge lip above the long reflector. The clear coat is basically peeling off. It is fine around the rear seat secure bolt. The dealership said they would probably have to keep her and send the fender in.

Just saw this little leak in the picture. Need to keep an eye on this! Anyone else seeing this kind of leak?

So it peeled like Z06 Pilot.s front fender.

As for that leak....I had something similar about a month ago.  I romped on it pretty good and it looked like a little seepage at the base of the cylinder.  I wiped it off and it hasn't come back...and I was romping on it this weekend pretty good!  It's most likely assembly lube.....if it's over 1000 miles and the first service, mother I might be worried.

I noticed about half that at 2000 and it its fairly steady now at 3200. I took it in today and they will fix it later in the winter. I have 1.8 years left to fix it. They said there was no problem riding it and sandbagging the issues. They agreed there was a bad seal.

Well.....after waiting 3 weeks, i just had another set of grips put on.

I went with the Get A Grip grips.  The are plain and there is stupid plastic end caps to peel.

What happened there Nicky? Couldn't they get the originals, or was it your choice to opt for these?

If you look at the originals, the end cap is plastic and my throttle grip had the plastic chrome piece start to flake off.  It was getting worse, so I filed a warranty claim and the ordered a new throttle grip.  It has been over 3 weeks and I got sick of looking at it, so I put these on.  I had them on my Street Glide and really liked them. AND....they are plain so it doesn't look like a miss match from the Slipstream stuff already on the bike?

For the record, the leak just stopped about 15,000 miles ago :)

My 2014 had the same problem.  Dealer had the clear coat repaired on warranty.  Looks like new and has not peeled again in 25k miles.
