USB plug for charging
« on: April 20, 2014, 09:56:29 AM »

Has anyone installed a USB plug to charge phone, Ipod etc while riding?  Would be nice to install this in the fairing where the Ipod plugs in.

I have a morphie.  I do 2-3 day rides with primitive camping.

I'm asking this because my I just washed my Ipod.  I actually enjoy the music but don't want to dish out $150 for a new one, I'm afraid using my phone for music will kill my the battery.

I bought a lighter socket from auto parts store, attached a end to fit the battery tender long enough to put into bags or pocket.  Most (if not all) electronics have cigarette lighter plug in's, so this will allow charging of just about everything while riding or stopped.    :orange:

Here you go...........http://www.powerlet.com/product/sae-to-cigarette-socket-cables/319

Plugs into your battery tender plug on one end and has a cigaret lighter type plug on the other end, for your car /phone charger.  Also comes in a battery tender connection on one end and an USB on the other end,  Plug and play, long enough to allow you to put your phone/ipad/iphone in your saddle bag and keep it charged.

These are pretty cool.  I went with Harley's.   I wanted something similar without it being able to move,,  it was a PIA to install,,,bigger job than I thought it would be.    :'(
