I've been noticing a squeaking noise when I down shift...I thought maybe the shaft that runs through the case that the shifter peddle mounted to needed some lube so i greased it....Still had the noise and after further investigating I found it's the part if the linkage that runs down to the tranny is loose or wobbly and is rubbing on the case...looks like a trip to the dealer and another ESP claim.
