$366 for a STARTER!?!?!?!?!?
« on: May 05, 2007, 01:47:08 AM »

So..the starter clutch in the bike died this week. Finally put it in..got tired of push-starting.

Found out I had a dreid front motor mount, and my exhaust bracket was cracking (perhaps related due to excessive vibration?)

But the scariest, was seeing that a new starter for an almost 9 year old FXR3 is $366.00!!!!

That stung like hell. But damned if we ain't ruinning smoother now :)

For $366, chrome or black?

What did you put back in for a front motor mount?

As I recall a starter drive for this machine runs somewhere just over $100 + installation.

Oh I knew that..but $366 for a starter is unbelieveable.

KC's great. The riders are plentiful. The cagers are good overall. There's this whole tornado thing, but thankfully they don't hit KC...often.

Well it's really not that bad - What is the bike worth without it? (Chrome boat anchor) It's a lot cheaper that the total cost of a NEW ride :)
