Wonder what the other Cops he works with think of him?

I'm not throwing my favor toward the guy making gun threats that is hiding behind a baby.  What, can't put the responsibility on him because he's dead?

Sounds like the cop was definitely focused on his role to take the head shot.  Who else was best to do it?

real simple= dont take a hostage in his town 

or anywhere else , These men are trained to do this and they will.

there are no warning shots in hostage missions,If your man enough to take a hostage you
should be man enough to take a bullit 

its not like these officers go looking for trouble,they get called to it

Obviously this officer stands out, but it could be nothing more then the cards that are dealt.

I'm glad he actually has the where with all to take that head shot.

Half jokingly half serious I chide my son and nephew about my taxes don't pay them to lose fist, knife or gun fights. on or off duty I expect them to be at the top of their game.

You threaten another with a weapon you deserve a bullet. That between the eyes stuff does a really good job of instantly stopping any potential injuries to others.

Apparently the shootings he has done were deemed justified. As a member of a SWAT team I guess you would be involved in more shootings than a normal officer. At least he's saving the taxpayers of Arizona money.

Agree with some of the other posters. The guy's on a SWAT team, they're called into the toughest situations. I'll leave the judgement to his peers but my view is he is good at doing a tough job.

with all the training these cops go through now days your a total fool to do anything stupid that threatens other life's..  From what i read in the story,, the cop did the right thing, and thank god he aced the shoot.. (not really a hard thing at 45')....  I look at from the point the cop saved the hostage child's life... Remember what happend just two weeks ago, Dad kills kids and burn house down..   Big Kudo's to the Cop,,
