my dealer said that powercommander is no god !
« on: April 06, 2007, 11:28:39 AM »

I'was going today to my dealer to ask about power commander for my ultra 2007 S.E. and he said that powercommander is no god because many time need to remap ! The cause maybe the city traffic or other problems !

I think that is strange that powercommander has this problem !

Do you thinks that is exact what my dealer said ?

So powercommander need to remap always !

Thanks for your patience !

Not sure I understand but if your asking about the time it takes to map the PCIII its no different than other devices. The PCIII works very well in any kind of driving.

I think your dealer may not be familiar with the Power Commander and therefore would prefer to sell you something else.  Possibly a SERT.

Did he offer a solution.  The PCIII needs no changes once you have it tuned to your bike and set up.

You will do fine with the PC.  Keep in mind if you want to have your bike put on a dyno you should consider a tuner that the dyno technician is familiar and comfortable with.  Where do you live?

Unless you are going to be loading/adjusting/tuning maps yourself go with the device your tuner is recommending. Chances are the device he is recommending is the one he's most familiar with and will be able to get the best results from. You don't want your bike to be the guinea pig for him to learn a new device on. :nervous:

I think that what we think about one device or the other is completely irrelevant.  We're not tuning the silly thing.  In fact we're paying someone else to do that for us.  So we're best served by finding the most competent tuner withing the distance we're willing to travel, asking him which of the tools he prefers using and then buying that one.  If there is no competent tuner in the area then get the Thundermax w/autotune and let the bike tune itself.

I love Roma, I have been there several times.

Does your dealer/tuner recommend any device?  Do they tune Harley's?  I agree with Fired00d And TwoLane, it is most important that you have a good tuner and use what they recommend.  If you really want to use the PC maybe another European member knows of a tuner that is competant with the PC.

There are two versions of the Power Commander currently available.  One would require using the o2 eliminators.  The other would not.  So it will depend on which version of the device you buy.

If your going with the power comander get the unit that also uses the O2 eliminators. The other unit has limitations due to EPA / CARB requirements.

I'm not sure about Italy, but others over there have also had to worry about the Flappers on intake and exhaust. Check with bis, Equons, dogols, ahog, for the European requirements. I think he might need their version, with the Flapper Eliminators, besides the O2 eliminators. Hopefully one of these guys will pop in here to assist. Hoist! 8)

You are correct Hoist!, I think that all European models use the flappers.

Depends which tuner you are going with - of course.

If you are going the Power Commander route then the Dynojet O2 eliminators will come with your kit. You may also choose to eliminate the intake sensor on the A/C and the exhaust actuator sensor. One of our Australian friends has these eliminators up for grabs at a very reasonable cost.

Take a look at this thread in the HD Forum - starts around post 21 with the interesting stuff and pictures from post 23.
