Very odd that they would do away with the notch. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

My 04 SEEG needed the notch - it ran much closer to the brake pedal - closer then the 07.  Without the notch I would have had interference.  On the 07 bike - on mine anyway, there is no need for the notch.  There is plenty of clearance without it.  If others are having interference I wonder if it is variation in the bikes or variation in the pipes that is causing the problem.

I just spoke to Jennifer at RH.  Very nice lady.   I asked her about the fitment issues with the 2007 SERK and she did confirm that you do need to swith out the billet brake arm for the header to fit and not come in contact with this brake arm.  She stated they are still investigating a potential fix, i.e. a spacer or a different head pipe, but no confirmed fix as of yet other than switching out the pedal arm.

I notice in Jennifer's comments, she seems to be referring to a 2007 SERK.  I wonder if they realize others are having fitment issues on 2007 SEUC's also.

I do not have an '07 CVO dresser, but I do have an '07 CVO Softail. My rear brake lever is also a thicker billet item that is a non-standard item and a work of art. There is no way I'd be swapping it out for a Kuryakyn metal stamped product in order to fit an aftermarket header pipe.  Not that Kuryakyn is a bad product, but the CVO bikes to me are limited editions that should be left as visually original as possible.  I know this is not a universal opinion, so please no bashing, this is just my opinion. The idea that the company would recommend that someone heat up the pipe and pound it in with a screw driver is hard to fathom!  The pipes would go straight back to the factory for a full refund, as they do not fit as advertised.  Can you imagine how much flack HD would get if they had a fitment issue like this?  Indeed they did with the '07 Fatboys that had interference with the front fender and the upper fork shroud. The bikes were recalled and refitted at the MoCo's expense.

Maybe the MoCo does have a fitment issue here - or maybe not??...  Does anyone know where the variation lies?  When the Rineharts fit on some bike and not others, the variation is in one of two places...

If the stock pipes fit, and the aftermarket pipes do not, then the fitment problem lies with the aftermarket item. This is not my opinion, this is a fact.

But the aftermarket pipe does fit on some bikes - so the variation could be either place...  Not a quality engineer are you...

2nd picture... 07 SEUC and 07 Rinehart True Duals...
Just checked mines that I purchased in '04 and they are the same as Scott's. It is really weird how there is a difference in design on same year bikes (103's and mines), other then the time they were purchased you would think they would be identical. [smiley=confused5.gif] Oh well they don't rub, they look good, sound good, and I love them. What more could I ask for.

My guess is the variations come from Rinehart, not the MOCO. Just my .02 !!

You'll never know without some measurements and analysis, but that's my guess, too.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yes, I removed my post right after I wrote it because I thought it would bring on some heat.  I am neither a chemist nor an engineer. When it comes to motorcycles, I am a customer, and if something doesn't fit, it goes back, simple as that.

Haven't seen too many folks using this product.  Car detailers like it, and so do I.  It has no abrasives, and therefore can not be considered to be a polish, it is more of a protectant/sealant. If you start with a good paint surface, this is the best stuff I've used.

In terms of various other products creating a covalent bond with the paint, I seriously doubt this claim.  I have a degree in chemistry, and know something about this subject.  I would challenge any manufacturer or sales person to tell me what compound in the paint is bonded to what compound in the product.  The answer is almost predictable:  this is a proprietary secret.  I would love to be proven wrong.  While these specialty polishes may do a great job, many other products will do just as well. I frequently ask car collectors what they prefer, and the answer is shocking:  the majority like Turtle Wax!!!  I personally have no experience with it!
