OAKLAND, Calif. -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Oakland Tuesday morning that injured a motorcyclist.

Police spokesman Jeff Thomason said the collision happened around 5:30 a.m. in the area of 12th Street and Broadway.

Thomason said a 2007 GMC sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle collided, and that the man behind the wheel of the GMC attempted to drive away afterward.

A second motorcyclist chased the GMC and, when the driver stopped, was able to grab the keys to the vehicle, Thomason said. The driver then fled on foot and was still at large as of mid-morning.

Thomason did not have word on the extent of the first motorcyclist's injuries.

I love it!  It's always good to see some jerk getting caught -and they WILL catch him- for trying to get away with crap like this.  I hope he serves about 5 years without parole.
