I had my dealer install my Day Makers (free so why not). Anyway how do you take the fairing off with the Day Makers?
-
No difference headlamps come off still attached to outer fairing, just cover front fender so you can rest the fairing on it while unplugging headlamp connector.

Thats the part I was most concerned about, disconnecting the wires. How difficult is this to do alone?
-
It's not very difficult to do by yourself. Just have a place cleared and put blankets down or other suitable material before you remove the fairing.

Is it possible to take the headlights out and disconnect the wires through the headlight holes?

yes. it is. i find it easier to do it that way so on reinstall of the fairing i can see the hanger hooks.

I agree it is easier to find the mounting points. It is however very easy to mess up your headlight alignment if you remove the lights and then remove the fairing. So take some care not to let the adjusters move. I would probably remove the lights before the fairing knowing that the alignment will probably need attention.
Just for fun, why are you removing the fairing?

There is a scuff on it and i need to send it to the US for repair. I am also considering carbon dipping the inner fairing.

taking the fairing off is a piece of cake. Putting it back on, especially if you've crammed a bunch of extra wires and "stuff" in there can be a b**** Extra set of hands usually helps

There are several other threads in here with pics talking about the removal and reinstall of the fairing.
Just do a search on the Daymakers

Taking the fairing off is easy. I saw 2 plugs for the headlights and a small aux wire,, pitting it back on the hooks for reassembly was the PIA. I think now I know why I buy batwing bikes.

Thanx all
Got it off and on again with no issues, was a bit nervous at first but it was actually easier than i was led to believe.

Its really not that big of a deal . Just make sure all your wires are tucked away and cable tied nicely and not hitting the headlight . Ive had mine off many times and after the first time its pretty much a breeze. You can look down between the inner and outer fairing and see where the hooks are and just hang it on them and carefully fit all the tabs under the inner fairing and you are home free.
