Title: 06 VRSCSE - Cuts off when stopped after warm-up
Post by: Hog Head on August 19, 2009, 12:38:55 PM
My wife's 06 SEVR cuts off when idling after it gets good and warm. It starts with the tach surging, then quits. It starts back easily - no problem there, but cutting off at every traffic light, or idle with clutch in sucks... Anyone had this problem??

Sorry to hear about the problem.  My 06 runs great hot or cold.  I have no idea what to suggest.

your slow speed sensor, mine did this and had it replaced never happened again, something about comming up to fast on say a stoplight with clutch pulled in and it shuts off the engine at stop signs and starts right back up.

Hog Head, this sounds like the same thing that was going on with my 06 SCVR.

Check the wires going into your ignition switch.  Took grand total of 15 minutes to fix.  Took longer to take cover off than to fix problem.  You can email me at jdarter42atcomcast.net  and if you need anymore help I will gladly give you my telephone number.

The middle wire is not all the way into switch.
