Title: White plastic seat bolt 'washers' worn out. Replacement???
Post by: dayne66 on September 06, 2018, 01:02:12 PM
Got my bike back from service at Barne's Victoria and one of the white seat bolt retaining 'washers' is missing and the other one is worn out and doesn't hold the bolt anymore. Any ideas on replacements other than stock?

Good local hardware store (for me an Ace Hardware or a local farm supply store). Both have various sizes of nylon washers.  Including some that work for the fender hardware.

I'm confused.  Are you talking about a simple white nylon washer that goes under the head of the bolt, or are you talking about the threaded inserts you screw the bolt into?  Which bike btw.

Sounds like the large white cross hatched washers (2) that hold the 2 studs through the rear fender to attach the rear of the solo seat on the late model touring bikes or softails Jerry.

To be able to do their job and hold those studs and their crossbar in place you really need the factory ones from the dealer unless you can find them in the aftermarket. I came up empty on that venture.
