I am new to this forum, and I am enjoying reading the posts and seeing the pictures posted here. My wife and I live just south of Great Falls Montana, and started riding again last Feb. We bought an 06 blue/silver Ultra Classic and put 8,600 miles on it by October. When the blue Screamin' Eagle Ultra Classic hit our dealership in October, we just couldn't say No, and traded the 06 for the 07. We have just over 12,75the new bike. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
We rode mostly in Montana this summer, Beartooth Pass, Chief Joseph Highway, the Big Horn Mountains, the State rally in Bozeman, Glacier, Columbia Falls, Eureka, Lake Kookanusa and Yaak. We met some terrific folks during our travels. We are looking forward to new rides further west and south as soon as the warm weather returns.

Welcome to the site from Indiana. I'm jealous of the great roads that you have to ride in your neck of the woods. Congratulations on the new wheels.

We had the great pleasure of traveling through your great State on our way home from Nelson, BC this summer. Certainly was a gorgeous State to drive through. Congrats on your new bike.

Welcome BigD07. Man you're right down the road from me (Great Falls), we need to meet and greet sometime. I run about 18,000 miles annually and a lot of it is just buzzing around MT and Idaho on the weekends. I need a riding partner. I ride with a couple of buddies off and on but they have other commitments, grand children and such so I do a lot of riding on my own. It's always better with a friend so feel free to give me a shout.

Welcome aboard.
What' up with that. Last time I was there there were no speed limits during daylight. I rode for an hour at 110 just so I could pass a cop and wave at him. He waved back! I loved that place! Are those days over? :nixweiss:

Yep, the no speed limit days ended some time ago in Montana. Actually it was not 'no' speed limit but 'reasonable' speed, too many abused the reasonable part.

welcome to the site.
Hoist, here is a link I found regarding speed limits in Montana. http://data.opi.state.mt.us/bills/mca/61/8/61-8-303.htm
It may have something to do with Interstates that receive federal funding. 70 in the day, 65 at night. I don't know about states. I brought it up to 110 on saturday for a couple hundred yards. I don't think I'd be doing that for an hour....
