** UPDATE -- The shop told me they indeed made a mistake on the labor - I was credited 2 hours. Good guys and good business practice. There was quite a bit more triple tree work and the stereo had to come out. Yikes. Lots of work !!! Glad I didn't do it myself.
I just picked up the 06 CVO; had the 575's put on on.

It came out at 12 hours.

Not the same bike---Ultra a lot more work.
I realize the Ultra will have the extra communications stuff on board. But that's going to be the only difference. And that ain't 6+ hours of R&R. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

maybe one or 2 more wires per side..... but the heated grips running internal may make for a major PITA
-
Just my thoughts, but I would be a little leary of taking a brand new 30K plus bike to an indy for that with all the stuff an Ultra has. When the heated grips stop working, ( they all do) who you gonna call? If the cruise or stereo controls crap out, who you gonna call? Might make for some testy situations, and you really can't blame HD if they don't want to work on it or won't warranty it. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Well with all the stuff in the bars it wouldn't be fun. The only consulation is you don't have to splice all the wires. Sure makes me curious about how long it will take when I put mine on the new bike [smiley=smash.gif].

The first time I put the wo575 bars and did the internally wired heated grips it took me about 12 hours. You have to extend the wiring on the heated grips and plan ahead to get all the wires routed properly. The second time I did it it took about 7 hours. So actually you just provided the tech with 5 hours of education on how to change out internally wired bars.
