Guidance please...
FLHTCUSE 103 w. Baker DD6
Need SE air cleaner- or K&N with miscellaneous P&A bits as suggested here- OK :)
ThunderMax vs Techlusion- O2 sensor or not- Good or Bad? :-?
D&D vs Rinehart True Duals- I want good low end perfromance but also to be able to hear the XM :-?
Appreciate comments- heard the D&D sound clip on the website- sounds great but loud/thanks to you all, I also know about the sweet deal until end of April on D&D.
Any suggestions? THanks

Big Al,
I run the D&D's with the stock baffle and have no issues hearing the radio at 1/2 volume. With the new release of the Rinehart rear pipe mounting system it should be a good to go system. The only flaw here is whether your buying for performance or sound or if you want the combination. The 2 into 1 get better torque. Falsie makes the look the same at the rear end for bagger look. This is a choice you have to make look / performance / sound. either are good products with good chrome.
In regards to the O2 sensors. The only issue here is the systems. The faster the sensor the better the reading or reaction time. cheapos are around 90 bucks and expensive are around 500 each. The 02 sensor is the future its just a matter of when you get on board. its just like a car.
Thundermax, Terry's, and Twin Tec's to name a few.

Thanks for the feedback.
Other than the 'tips' (be careful how you type that Al ::)), I like the look of both pipes (slightly prefer the Rineharts).
Sounds like I'm D&D bound with the falsie (here we go again...) and the Thundermax. Am I right that the Thundermax can support an O2 sensor if I get the bucks later?

yes the TM o2 module is in it's final testing....and it is a dual sensor unit.
My FatCat's should be here tomorrow, I got the 1.75 baffle. American Machine advised that for a bagger the 1.75 is good for torque, the performance baffle if you make head, throttlebody and cam changes. However, the performance baffle is supposed to be really loud.

One minus to the Fatcat's is that they don't include an o2 sensor bung.

I HAVE HAD THEM BOTH,,THE D AND D ARE ABOUT THE BEST LOOKING PIPE YOU WILL FIND IN MY OPINION BUT THEY ARE LOUD AS _ELL,,
I EVEN TRIED SAMSON CALIBERS AND THE MUFFLERS ARE SO SMALL THEY LOOK LIKE CHITT,,,,I KEPT THE SAMSON PIPES AND PUT A SET OF RHINEHART MUFFLERS ON THEM,,,NOW I LOVE THEM,,,,ALSO I HAVE A SET OF BASSANI PIPES ON MY SE ROAD KING AND I LOVE THEY WAY THEY LOOK.....GOOD LUCK

I have an 04 SEEG with D&D and PCIII, my Bud has an 05 with a RT and Thunder Header, we both have AC upgrade, in an eighth of

Thanks all of you for your help.
My current thinking is the D&D's (1.75 baffle for torque with reasonable sound) and the TM as well as the SE AC update...(K&N plus P&A) as suggested. I love the look of the Rineharts but its a bagger dammit >:( and I want 2 pipes. Appreciate all the input! Thanks [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Stihlone- you probably were sold the performance baffles.
-
I own the D&D fat cat and have tried both mufflers (tapered and performance) the tapered one is not loud, you can listen to the radio at any speed, and the performance baffle is just a shade under having straight pipes (very loud) and pretty much makes the radio useless!!! [smiley=pumpkin.gif]

Installed and test rode my Big Boss FatCats.....
Awesome.
Chrome is absolutely beautiful, better than V&H. Makes the cam and primary covers look 2nd rate.
Install went well and everything fit. They didn't seem to work as well with the SE exhaust gaskets.
Loaded the map from Zipper's for my ThunderMax.
Pipe sounds nice, deep. Not quite as barky as a BSS, but still low and very big block chevy-ish. Probably the difference is 2-2 vs 2-1 sound. Lower than the Rinehart 2-2's I've heard. I'll compare to VH Ovals this weekend.
Power is great. Bike wants to launch right off of 2000rpm. Response at 2500 is instant. Sound at cruising @55mph is fine, radio just gets turned up 2 notches vs the stock touring muffs.
Definately do this pipe. Sure 2-2 has it's traditional HD sound, but to get this much performance and the looks of the ghost pipe. No brainer. $649 complete on the CVO group buy from AMS. Excellent service, 3 day ship.
This is gonna be fun.

I think I'm there...FatCats/TM/K&N+P&A.
[smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]
And I don't have to chrome the starter 'cos no black hole!
THanks all!

Anyone got/help me find the dyno runs for FatCats- I saw somewhere but ...
-
I am getting there:
Ordered the SE AC P&A 'bits' from Zanotti's
Ordered the TM ECM and K&N replacement filter from Zippers (TM is backordered 1 week)
Next the Fat Cat's....I think I need to do that NEXT week- After April 15. [smiley=nervous.gif]
I am really learning how to spend money like everyone else here!
BTW: Somewhere I saw dyno results for this combo...Can anyone point me in the right direction?
