CD Pro beam turn signals
« on: June 12, 2018, 08:09:38 AM »

Has anybody installed these on a 2018 CVO Road Glide? if so did you have to remove the front fairing to get enough slack in your wires to remove the OEM turn signals? I tried to replace them but couldn't get enough wiring pulled thru to unhook.

This info taken from the Custom Dynamics installation instructions:

"NOTE: 2016 Road Glide Ultra CVO™ and the 2018 Road Glide CVO™ may need to remove the front fairing to provide slack in the turn signal housing wiring."

So it appears they also found the same thing you did, the RG models don't have much if any slack.  Look at the exploded illustration below, I'd guess the problem is at the red arrow I added, where the wiring goes through the reinforcement for the T/S attachment.

There are actually 2 offset plastic hooks to hold the rather long wire in place along the inside of the fairing that won't let the wire be pulled without removing the outer fairing for access. There is plenty of wire though once your in there. Sorry I don't have any pic's but it's very obvious once it's apart.

thanks grc and rayson56.......guess I will wait until I remove the outer fairing to change these now. I was pretty good at the fairing on my 09, after removing it I don't recall how many times to change things lol

Switched mine out without removing fairing.  Took some patience but it worked out.
