Let's say I break into your house

    >>A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials
    >>In ages!!! It explains things better than all
    >>The baloney you hear on TV.
    >>
    >>Her point:
    >>
    >>Recently large demonstrations have taken place
    >>Across the country protesting the fact that Congress
    >>Is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.

    Certain people are angry that
    >>The US might protect its own
    >>Borders, might make it harder
    >>To sneak into this country and,
    >>Once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand
    >>The thinking behind these protests.
    >>Let's say I break into your house.
    >>Let's say that when you discover
    >>Me in your house, you insist that I leave.

But I say, "I've made all
    >>The beds and washed the
    >>Dishes and did the laundry
    >>And swept the floors. I've
    >>Done all the things you don't
    >>Like to do. I'm hard-working
    >>And honest
    >>(except for when I broke into your house).
    >>
    >>According to the protesters:

You are Required to let me stay in your house
    >>You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
    >>You are Required to Educate my kids
    >>You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family

my husband will do all of your yard work because
    >>He is also hard-working and honest, except for that
    >>Breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out,
    >>I will call my friends who will picket your
    >>House carrying signs that proclaim my
    >>RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have
    >>A nicer house than I do, and I'm just
    >>Trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working
    >>And honest, person, except for well,
    >>You know, I did break into your house

And what a deal it is for me!!!
    >>
    >>I live in your house, contributing only a
    >>Fraction of the cost of my keep, and
    >>There is nothing you can do about it
    >>Without being accused of cold,
    >>Uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and
    >>Bigoted behavior.
    >>
    >>Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn
    >>MY LANGUAGE!!! So you can
    >>Communicate with me.
    >>
    >>Why can't people see how ridiculous
    >>This is?! Only in America .
    >>If you agree, pass it on (in English).
    >>Share it if you see the value of it.
    >>
    >>If not blow it off.........
    >>Along with your future Social Security funds, and a lot of other things.

When I was a kid growing up in So Cal, there was a worker program, I think it was called the brassero program, something like that, dont quote me.  The Mexican immigrants (many of whom I worked with in my younger day, and who I found to be a fine and proud people on the whole) could legally get a work card, come to the states, work for a specified time, go home at a specified time, reapply, come back, and on and on.  It worked really well, was a win-win situation, if the politicians hadnt abolished in about 1964, we wouldnt have the out of control problem we have today.  It was a controlled situation that made sense, was on the up and up.  Politicians just have a different value system than we mere mortals, dumba$$es, they blew it.

I understand completly, with todays laws, this situation is totaly out of control!!! in the county I live in between 3000 and 4000 illegals are caught and deported each month, there was a rancher close to here that caught 15 or so cutting his fence so they would not have to climb over it, (this happens alot). so he called the border patrol and held the illegals at gunpoint till they arrived. the man was sued for unnessary use of force........ and the judge gave the ranch to the illegals who suffered tramma becouse of the incident!!!! I was on my way to Douglas yesturday and saw that the border patrol had maybe 60 illegals lined up on side of the road. they come in across the desert 30 or 40 in a group all carrying backpacks full of drugs a machine gunner in front and one in the rear, they drop the drugs then get on the highway just waiting for a border patrol to come by to give the a free ride back to Mexico!!!!! all the time I hear of some one getting hurt tring to cross into the country illegally and the ambalace is called they are takin to the hospital for a stay in a private room intill they are well enough to be deported.......... and guess who picks up the bill?????? or the homes that are broke into for food or water........ then they just happin to find something of value and that is takin. or little girls playing out of eyesite of there homes and are rapped or attempeted to be raped by groups of illegals. this is a giant problem here and needs to be addressed!!!!!!!!!! the people who do not live here would be very supprised if they knew the trurth!!!!!this is more then a problem it is a invasion!!!!!

Its a mess, and our current politicians aren't helping.  I understand from my friends in San Diego, that after these issues began to be discussed in the Congress and by the Pres, that illegals over the border increased by 10 fold as they are hoping to get in and get amnesty.  Once again, our elected officials screw up.

Of course, my experience was over 40 years ago, when the Beatles were a new phenom and Sandy Koufax was throwing no hitters (I saw one).  But, since it was legal and controlled then, there was no money in it for the bad guys.  Of course, as you stated, the criminal element is heavy and I feel bad for you folks near the border that are taking the brunt of this screw up.
