If you have Michelin's on your bike, Do you like them.

It was going to be a toss up between the elite3 and the commander, but the elite3 dont come in MU85B16

Not presently on my CVO (stock tires still) but I had them on my Road King and loved them.  I even ran them in rain, sand and once on snow (and ice) and they handled well.  My original stock Dunlops would have dumped me for sure on the snow.

Smoother highway ride and really grip on the curves.  They are softer than the Dunlops but I still passed inspection with 9,500 miles on them before trading for my Duracell.

I'm hearing that if you're running 18" rims, these are the tires you want. They're full radials aren't they ?

No, at least the ones I had were not.  They have a tread laydown pattern similar to a radial so they don't squirm as much when they contact the road (so the soft rubber lasts almost a long as the Dunlop tires do) but they are still technically not radials.

I do not know if there are any radials that have been given the "OK" from HD.  I have heard it is because the weight limits are lower on the bike radial tires but I do not know that for a fact.

I've got them on my 07 ultra. The handling is top notch. Only issue I've encountered is milled (grooved) roads. They are squirly as S#$%. Other than that great in the rain, awsome in corners, smooth going down the road. As far as wear goes well I'm rough on tires. I have 4200 miles on these and I would say I will get 6000 to 6500 which is exactly the same as I have gotten out of the last three dunlops so take that for what it's worth.

That sure sounds like radials. Thanks for the heads up. Living in SoCal ain't no way I'm running tires that don't like rain grooves

I put a set on my '07 SE Ultra 2 weeks ago. Just got back today from a 3700 mile trip. The rear tire is worn out! I ran 40 psi. At about 1700 miles , the center groove was barely noticable and at 2000 miles the center groove was completely gone, it looks like a "slick".  I got 8000 miles each out of the 2 previous rear Dunlops. No, I don't do burn outs. I will talk to my dealer tomorrow. You can bet I won't be buying any more Michelins, I'm going back to Dunlops.

If your experience is going to be the 'norm', they're going to have a lot of tires for sale at a discount.  Those things cost too much to wear out like that (unless you've got a NASCAR team)  :o har!  spyder

In my opinion, Dunlops feel better on rain grooved highways than any other tire.

Metzlers feel like I'm riding on ice

just changed out the front and rear with Michelin's due to a blowout puncture in the rear tire (dunlop OEM).   I heard great things about the Michelin's first hand from riding buddies.   I hope I get more than 3500 miles out of the rear.   That just don't seem right, the factory folks at Myrtle Beach Bike Week assured me I would be equal or better service life out of their product as the original equipped tire.
Will keep all apprised.    Oh yeah, the blowout was at 80 mph.  You know, hours of boredom interrupted by seconds of sheer terror.

Wow!  Glad you lived to tell about your blowout!

Rear wheel blowout I imagine?  I don't think a front wheel blowout would be manageable on a bike.

Got just shy of 5,000 miles on my Michelin Commanders, and I will never buy anything else!  IMO, they are that much of an improvement over the Dunlops which are the same price.

Have over 5/32nds left in the center also!  The Michelins demand correct air pressures which are higher than the Dunflops!  Always 40psi in the front and no less than 42-44 in the rear.

Just replaced my rear at 5500 miles. bald as a baby's you know what. Tired of dunlops. Going to try a metzler this time. Still have a commander on the front wich probably is not the best idea but, I just can't bring myself to fork over the dough for a front tire that is still in good shape.

And as an update to that story - Hoist ended up changing the tire in J'ville NC since it had flat spots...

It's not really in good shape. While the tread wear on the front is no noticeable like the rear, they sides of the tire " cup "  Stand to one side of your front wheel, off to the side a bit and above the tire and look across the tire to the other side. You'll see what looks like scallops in the tire. Ever feel your front end want to dance when you go around a corner. Kinda of a cha cha cha type feeling ?  That's what causes it
