ABS not working
« on: June 20, 2008, 09:16:02 AM »

Abs not working  It all started with loosing a front bearing.  The shop replaced the bearing and evidently put the first one in backwards tone ring is on one side of the bearing.  The light would come on once in a while and go off the next time you rode, you may get 3-4 rides before it came back on.  The shop has replaced the left bearing 4 times and now and still no abs.  Shop replaced the bearing again last night now the light is on all the time.  Thewy said they where going to check with HD about the issue.

Something must have gotten screwed up when the first bearing became loose or when they put the replacement bearing in backwards.  A good shop manual would have come in handy for them, maybe..:nixweiss:

Unfortunately with new technology, there is always a learning curve.   The bad thing to me about issues like this is that everytime you take it back, there is always a chance of getting a scratch.  Too bad they have to learn on us..

Considering the bearing issues, bet that does it.
