I may be stupid but . . . . ?
« on: February 15, 2009, 08:56:00 AM »

Ok guys.

Not had my Dyna SE that long. It's been in the house since I collected it in October.

QUESTION !   How do I remove the saddle as it appears to be retained by the strap once the retaining screw on the fender is removed. All I can see is a bolt on the underside of the rear fender that may hold the strap but this looks very difficult to reach ! HELP !

LoRider, you are correct. After you remove the screw from the back of the seat lift the seat in the air and you will see one bolt holding the strap on. I use a  combination ratchet wrench to remove it( not a standard wratchet and socket ). I also put a rag at the back of the fender under the seat to guard against scratches as you work the bolt out.

Hey 08springer. Thanks for that. Don't know why they need to make it so tricky.

Shouldn't have to take the strap off. Take out the screw on the fender then pull the seat back to unhook it from the tank then carefully manuver it out.

I had the same issue until I read the manual. Remove the bolt on the back, lift the back up an inch or so and slide the seat back until the front seat lip comes out from under its latch, then CAREFULLY slide the seat forward while sliding the BSR grip strap around the rear part of the seat. It takes a bit of maneuvering but it works.
