SIZE MATTERS! Can I mount 6.5" speakers inside CUSE fairing?

Can I use a 6.5 to 5.25 adapter and fit a 6.5 inside the fairing? :confused5:

There are a couple of companies that make such an adapter for the FLHT bikes

Can you PLEASE point me in the right direction?  WILL this be a noticable upgrade to the factory CUSE HK speakers due to larger diameter?  I can not afford to go full blown HawgWired, but can find a decent pair of 6.5 inch speakers and can sell them to the next guy when I can upgrade to Hawg Wired 4 ohm and amp.   How can I contact Jim - will try to PM him, think he is HD Dude - looks like he is the audio expert here!

If you want to improve the base response then a larger speaker will do that. Base response is a direct relation to speaker size. This will not improve your high end however, high frequency has an issue with being enclosed and the speakers are enclosed. To improve that you will need to add tweeters.

All in all it will end up helping a bit, but most lickly you will end up wanting more (an amp). Hawgwired is expensive, an amp with speakers and tweeters will cost you some $$$ but good quality 6.5" marine speakers are not cheap. Make sure the speakers you get are 2 ohm.

I am seeing quality speakers (Infinity Kappa and JBL) pair under $100.  That is easier to swallow than the $1500 Hawg wired for me right now.  Can I buy any adapter ring 6.5 to 5.25 inches?

Are those speakers marine rated?  You can always buy the Hawg-Wired CX speakers then do the amp at a later time...

I think the CVO speakers are 2 ohm and the HW speakers are 4 ohm - otherwise, I would DEFINITELY do that!

Hawg-Wired has both 2 and 4 ohm speakers.  Talk to HD-Dude

Are the factory speakers in the 2004 SEEG 2 ohm or 4 ohm?  I hear conflicting reports on different sites.  Thanks Ed

Ebay #220390587434 is what your looking for or just do a search for "speaker adapter harley" on it and you will come up with some more.  That is the route I am going to go as soon as I find out what ohm speakers I need for my 2004 SEEG.  Good luck.

$50 seems pricey for an adapter.  Electronics stores offer them for $10?  I'll check out their website...

I beleive the 04 were 4 ohm - mine are clearly labelled 2 ohm on my 09.
