Gas and the 110's
« on: August 13, 2009, 09:36:51 AM »

gents:

Can the type of gas make a difference on how the 110 engine performs ?  I had to fill up at a old 'seven eleven' versus my usual Chevron, with techron !, which I use in all my bikes and its weird ... bike kinda feels just a little "under the weather" about half way through the tank.   While I used 91 Octane, have you guys found the bike responds differently to various types of gas suppliers ?    I was always curious about that.  Figured no, but ...

No question that mine does better w/ different gas. Some of the off brand stuff has been ok and some hasn't. For a real kick, drop in some 110 race gas.  :2vrolijk_21:

Pump price on 110 is about $7.50 around here. Hard to put a value on smiles but it's coming close.  :)

I took a trip to Northern New Mexico this summer and I noticed that my exaust tips were solid white. I was worried about that but now that I'm home and riding in the area the pipes have come back to the brownish/black color. I was worried that my motor wasn't tuned correctly.

I always carry Octane Boost in my bags to make sure I have the RDA of Octane.

So is the 110 gas then bought "at a store" ?   Im in Souther California, in between LA and San Diego.  Is this something I can go to a shop to buy or just on line ?   Then what brand do you recommend ?   I'll give it a go ..

Read the Sunuco thread of course.  But where to buy ?

We have a few stations near us that sell Race Fuel around here. They usually have them near tracks. Do a google for it in your area. That Sunoco Race Fuel can be mail ordered. But look at them prices. Not anywhere near that expensive at a station. Like they said, about $7.50/gal. ;)
