does anyone wear a full face or  a 3quarter ?  thats my problem, since switching to a DOT 3/4 My stereo went all but away.

With the HW speakers and amp and a half lid the radio is turned to just barely under 50% max vol at highway speeds.  And that's plenty.  With the 3/4 helmet it's turned up only a step or two with the face shield anywhere but all the way down.  All the way down and it's another step or two.  With a flip down full face helmet (Nolan N102) with the face shield opened at all the radio volume is still about the same place; between 1/2 and 3/4 of max vol.  If it's cool out and the face shield wishes to be closed completely need to go to about 3/4 of max volume.

Audio clarity suffers there though.  I don't mean the radio starts breaking up.  Open the face shield again the sound is fine.  It's that inside the closed lid the acoustics suck.  Hardly ever have to worry about that though.  Helmet has its own speakers and its bluetoothed off the Garmin MP3s on any long ride where I might have to be buttoned up inside a closed helmet for any real period of time anyway.

What Bluetooth system do you have? I want integrated, not add-on, so I am considering the Vega V-Tune, because it is the only one I can find with stereo (Bluetooth 2.0).

Have used the Nolan Ncom units since they first arrived in Europe.  They didn't come to the states until almost a year later.  So mine are the first generation of the hardware.  Before spring finally making the jump to their second gen units that handles the A2DP stereo bluetooth protocol also.
