Blue is coming...
« on: October 27, 2009, 03:33:27 PM »

By popular demand, (ok, alot of requests) we will be offering a faceplate color change to blue. We've been working on this for a while, and we're just about done. Because of the labor involved, we will be taking advanced orders. We're posting here first about 2 weeks before we put it on our site.

Any questions...or please, comments, shoot us an e-mail at info@ironcrossaudio.com

excuse the poor pic. Gets messed up when we resize for the site

That's great......many of the members here are interested.

What's the cost?

Will they get their same unit back or is it a switch (like the chrome exchange program)?

$175 for display and buttons
$150 display only

You will get your unit back. The faceplate PCB may be exchanged so we can pre-make these and reduce down time. We will need you to call in advance (no payment until we are done) so we can have one made for you. As soon as it is done, we will contact you. This way, we only have your unit overnight.

Can we see a couple more pics of this conversion, from the riders position and maybe back ten feet from the bike and both day time and night time.

Our "test bikes" are currently doing other things for us, but we'll get one on as soon as we can and snap some pics

What buttons are we talking about?

I just turned my stereo on and my buttons don't light up.  Then I wondered if they did before the color conversion so I turned Terrie's bike on (hers has not been touched.....totally stock).....her ubttons don't light up either. :nixweiss:

There is an LED behind each button. It's not very bright, but trust me, they do light up. I's a little more obvious in the daylight setting, or when it's very dark

Pic of my stock dash--the radio buttons do loght up....

I went out again, to a pitch black garage.  I can barely see them on her 09 SG due to the rest of the dash lights ambient light, but I did see it this time.

My SESG, which has the blue light conversion, the buttons don't light up at all.  It's not an issue since they're readily visable from the ambient light of all the gauges. :nixweiss:  Had I known at the time, I probably would have had the buttons converted, also.

The only brightness adjustment would be to switch the display from automatic to night or day. the daytime setting is a bit harsh with the red backlight. It's a bit less glaring with the blue.
