Issues with radio reception on 04 SEEG
« on: November 07, 2009, 01:24:43 PM »

Does anyone out there have any ideas to fix the radio reception on my 04 SEEG.  It does have a quick detach tour pack and I have tried everything possible to get reception, but to no avail.  I spent 1/2 hr trying to use the adjustment of the mount fix nd cannot get reception in any way shape or form.  Absolutley no reception at all for radio, weather.  The CD works fine though.

Any suggestions.  I'm out of things to try and like most projects I get into, it seems to be the simplest and most obvious thing that fixes it gets overlooked. :soapbox:

Please help.

Thank you,

Since you mention the detach tourpak have you checked the reception w/o the tourpak on? I remember there is an adjustment on the antenna base that has to be adjusted just right to make a connection when using the antenna relocation kit. If memory serves me right there is something like a lock nut that will allow the connection to go to a certain spot and if it's not lowered enough it doesn't make a connection and I had that problem also. Once adjusted right and the connection is made you'll be good to go.

Here is a post/picture of what I'm talking about....

I think I might know what the problem is. :idea3: In the picture below you will see arrows pointing to two nuts if you loosen these you should be able to get more of the larger size threads to stick up on the top side so they will catch hold on the adapter that you have and I have in picture in previous thread. You will probably have to take the cable loose from bottom to get this done.
