Same Noise after Motor Change and Tranny Rebuild???
« on: August 05, 2010, 01:55:14 PM »

I got BLUU 2010 SEUC back the other day with a new motor and a re-built Tranny and it is running awesome except when I got home from a 300 mile(HOT RIDE) trip to break in new motor I pulled into my garage and put the bike in neutral and I hear this clacking noise as it idles. I pull in the clutch handle and it goes away. Release handle it starts clacking again. I know it was hotter than Hatties yesterday but what would cause it to clack when the bike is hot and you pull in the clutch and it goes away? I just had the bike in the dealer for a month and I hear this clacking again??

HD replace my 09 SERG for the same issue you are having right now. They replaced everything in the drive, trans, primary chain, tensioners. Installed a SE comp sprocket. Never found the source of the rattle. HD Rep gave me a new bike.  Doc   BTW the dealer had the bike over two months trying there hardest to resolve the issue.

My 09 SERG only had 1500 miles on it at the time. Did it from day one.  Doc

I just upgrade my bike to the SE Compensator and am very happy and I did have a slight rattle in the primary that is gone now.   Doc

Right after the dealer replaced my compensator I had a clacking. Dealer said it was the chain tensioner about to go to the next step. Shop foreman said put some miles on it to get it to step. I was pizzed and in disbelief. Thought he was blowing smoke. Rode the bike about 50 miles and she's quiet now  :nixweiss:

Howie,
Your post is encouraging!! I'm very happy with my new motor and re-built Tranny and yesterday I decided to not push the bike as hard on the Freeway yesterday and kept it at 75 and when I got home I had no Clacking at idle in Neutral. It's just been Hotter than Hatties here in AZ and I'm ready for some cooler temps!! 8)

Actually I got CAOCS 1 unit from Enigma Concepts Inc. Very well made and the people were real nice to deal with. Can't wait to install it if I ever get my motor back. It came with a new oil filter and a new cowbell with a stock horn and the fan mounted ready to mount and plug in. Also a new oil filter adapter for the hoses to connect. They use 1/2 inch ID hoses instead of the 3/8. And they sent me a t-shirt to boot. I will try to post some pics soon. I also sent them a CVO card and invited them to become a member(vendor).
