Shock adjustment -- need help
« on: July 20, 2006, 10:11:23 AM »

I need to adjust the shocks to accomodate 2 passengers weighing 250 to 320 lbs.

The bike is a 2006 Fat Boy SE. I DO know which way to turn the shock wrench...I just do NOT know how far. If I at least had the weight values for the extremes (all the way in both directions) perhaps I can figure it out from there...

Your owner's manual will tell you which way to turn the shock with the spanner wrench.  I would turn the adjuster full soft-counting the # of turns to see where you started with and increase preload from there with the additional weight.  Sometimes you don't have to increase preload that much so go a little at a time and see what works best for you.  Each bike/rider's are different in what they like/want.  Put marks on the shock/body so you can get each shock the same.
